I am very grateful to the inventors of Chord Buddy because I can play guitar again despite a hand handicap. I have played guitar since childhood. I always loved it, just to strum and sing along with friends or by myself. In 2014, I suffered an injury to my hand which resulted in a handicap of my left hand, and I was no longer able to play guitar. Enter Chord Buddy. You only need one finger to play it. Yes, it only plays 4 chords- C, D, G, and Em but you would be amazed at how many really popular songs can be played with those four chords! In addition to the songbook that comes with Chord Buddy, you can do an Internet search for songs that can be played with those chords. It is astounding how many there are! Installation is not the easiest, but with following the instructions with patience and care, you can successfully install it on your guitar. The picture is of Chord Buddy installed on my guitar.
I personally love the Chord Buddy. Am I learning the correct way to play a guitar? No, but who cares? I enjoy it! It's fun, it's easy, and you do learn lots of great strumming techniques. Of course you can learn to play guitar the correct way by following the Chord Buddy lesson plan, but I admit, I just jumped right into learning and playing the songs using the Chord Buddy and haven't taken off any of the tabs yet because...why? Lol. I just ordered the Christmas Song book and the Pop Song book. I followed the Chord Buddy installation video on Youtube and have had very few problems with it. From time to time, I have to re-adjust it and make sure all the tabs are in tight, and every once in a while a string buzzes, but all in all, it's been fantastic.
